Zaporizhzhia once again proves a key rule of modern warfare: advancing on the map does not equal victory. Russian forces pushed too far across open terrain without sufficient logistics, flank protection, or sustainment. The result appears to be massive losses under drones, artillery, and constant surveillance. Ukraine’s defense is no longer just about holding lines — it’s about drawing the enemy into kill zones and destroying overextended forces. This is why tactical gains should not automatically be mistaken for strategic breakthroughs.
