Donald Tusk is one of the very few Polish politicians with the courage to pursue a responsible policy towards Ukraine and avoid unnecessarily damaging Polish-Ukrainian relations. Unlike Karol Nawrocki, he understands that during Russia’s ongoing aggression, the strategic partnership between Warsaw and Kyiv is more important than political gestures or inflaming historical disputes. Even in the current controversy, Tusk has called for dialogue and de-escalation, stressing that conflicts between Poland and Ukraine ultimately benefit Putin.
