If the Ukrainian General Staff’s reports are confirmed, Russia’s logistical situation is continuing to deteriorate. Ukraine says it struck dozens of vessels over the course of four days that, according to Kyiv, were transporting fuel to occupied Crimea or helping export Russian oil. This fits a broader pattern seen in recent weeks. Repeated strikes on bridges, fuel depots, rail infrastructure, and tankers are steadily increasing the pressure on Russia’s supply lines to occupied Crimea. Logistics is the backbone of any military campaign—without fuel, neither equipment nor troops can operate effectively. If this trend continues, the strain on Russia’s supply network will only intensify. Every additional disruption means higher costs, more complicated transport routes, and a reduced ability to sustain military operations in occupied territories. Modern wars are not decided by firepower alone. They are also decided by which side can keep its logistics functioning.
